The engine also features a timing chain with an automatic tensioner, an intercooler, start/stop function, eco function and direct injection. The Arteon makes 268 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is backed by an eight-speed transmission and has 4MOTION all-wheel drive. This combination gets 20 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. Combined fuel economy is 23 mpg. Additional performance features include:

  • Independent suspension with MacPherson front struts; and
  • Independent rear suspension with steering arm and wishbone.
